For Whom The (Cruise Ship) Bell Tolls

Well this is certainly embarrassing news out of Rome. Despite the presence of "laser systems that measure millimetric shifts in the Costa Concordia shipwreck and 24-hour surveillance by the Italian coast guard and police" it has been reported by the National Post that underwater thieves have made off with the Costa Concordia's ship's bell.

Apparently it's a fact that some people will go to great lengths to steal almost anything. While the daring heist happened nearly two weeks ago, we have yet to see the bell advertised on eBay. However, keep an eye out for it in the cruise memorabilia category: "Ship's Bell, inscribed with Costa Concordia and 2006, the year the ship was christened."
